In order to make scaffolding, you will need 6 pieces of bamboo and one string as shown in the recipe below. To obtain a string, you will need to hunt for spiders or destroy their cobwebs. You can also get some from fishing, bartering, or as a gift from a cat.

Bamboo can be found in the Jungle Biome. You can break bamboo with any item to get the drop, but doing it with an Axe or a Sword makes the process much faster.
